As part of my brilliant plan to be more creative this year, I wanted to do more poetry. So I got this book called, 52 by Jo Bell, which provides a different prompt for each week. You also get a little discussion and one or two example poems on that weeks theme.
So I’m doing that.
And as this is week 1, I thought I should post my poem here. The theme is, my approach to the next 12 months. Not a list, not a resolution (because you could start this at any time during the year) but just a way of approaching the year. So here’s mine. I don’t really have a title for it either. The file is called Twelve Months, so you can call it that or suggest others that I can ignore. Anyway, here’s my first poem of the year:
Twelve months to try
Twelve months to fail
Twelve months to scream
Twelve months to wail
Twelve months to pick
Twelve months to choose
Twelve months to win
Twelve months to lose
Twelve months to do
Twelve months to be
Twelve months to look
Twelve months to see
Twelve months to take
Twelve months to give
Twelve months to die
Twelve months to live
And there it is. Part of me hopes you like it, part of me doesn’t really care. I’m going to do another each week whether you like it or not.
You’re welcome!
